Never got to post these. . . .

Hey all, I never got to post pictures from the day that I went to Cementerio de la Recoleta, located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This amazing cemetery has Evita’s grave site, along with the most ornate tombs I’ve ever seen. Take a look:

Here I am pointing at Evita's plot. Her tomb isn't very exciting. She's buried with her family, but in reality, even if you are important or famous, you probably would still want to be with your family.

Okay, just to give you a reference point on how massive these tombs are, in this next photo I'm standing under the lamppost!

Really, this was just a sampling of the trip to the cemetary. I took almost a hundred photos!

Happily Home for the Holidays

I arrived home from Peru last Monday and I'm very happy to be here.

Our stay in Peru was very long in a very bad building. The promoters were idiots, and we all got carbon monoxide poisoning from the car show in the ajoining building. We all survived and were more than happy to celebrate the end of our South American tour.

I am now at home, and with the holidays fast approaching I am picking up shifts at my old Hallmark job.

Annual Halloween Party

Every year, we all show our creative sides by dressing up for the annual Halloween party. This year, I went as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. I made my own costume from scratch in my spare time at work. However, I did have to buy the material and patern when I was home on break. I think it turned out pretty good!

There's no place like home!

Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf (aka Sallie and Kevin)

Akiele puts on a scary face for Sheleena and Izumi

Amy and Adrien (as Edward Scissorhands) I helped make Adrien's costume.

Jack Bauer from 24 (Brandon) and Lara Croft from Tomb Raider (Sheleena) face off!

All in all, it was a good night.

Not Much to Talk About

There's not a whole lot for me to tell you about the two weeks I spent in Sao Paulo, Brazil, or the week that I've just finished in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Sao Paulo had a really cool mall called the Galleria du Rock aka the Rock Mall. Think Hot Topic, but instead a 3 story mall with everything you could dream of. I picked up a few presents for some friends, but that's about all there. We had a lot of shows, and I had the flu the first week I we were there.

Montevideo, Uruguay is actually a very lovely sleepy little town. Wish I had taken some pictures, but I just never got around to it! The town is on the ocean and the streets are interesting to walk down.

We're off to Buenos Aries, Argentina for the next two weeks. I hear the steak there is amazing along with the leather shops!

Rio de Janerio, Brazil

I've been in Rio about a week now and we've been super busy getting the show back up and running. However, we finally managed some time to go see the Statue of Christ the Redeemer, standing at 98 feet high on Mount Corcovado. After seeing the big man on the hill, we stopped off for lunch in Copacabana. In other news, Hello Kitty has now Sewing Kitty and I want this tote bag for work:
That's all the news from here.

Leaving again soon!

I'll be leaving again on September 27th for Brazil. I'll be returning on or around December 10th!!!! Which means I'll be home in plenty of time for Christmas!

Hello from home!

I am currently at home. My bug bites are almost healed, and I've been doing crafty things to keep myself busy. As we're supposed to be home on Christmas Eve, I've even done a little Christmas shopping! Not quite sure when I leave again, but I know it will be here before I know it!

Don't scratch your bug bites!

While in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic I got a bug bite. No biggie right? Well, I itched it. . . it got infected! I went to work on Thursday to load the show in, and do the opening night. The building didn't have air conditioning and was less than ideal. I sweated, my shorts rubbed on my bug bite that was a little infected, and then I started to feel lightheaded and nauseous. The infection was spreading!

I was taken to an emergency clinic the promoters had set up with for accidents. The doctors looked at my bug bite, felt the heat of the infection spreading in my leg and rambled in Spanish to the person who had brought me there. I was given a shot in the bum, a blood test (to make sure I didn't get poisoned or Malaria) and two antibiotics. Fab!

The next day, I woke up and felt even worse! I started throwing up, and was very weak. The idea of going to work made me want to pass out. I called again and went back to the doctor. My blood tests were fine (Yay!) but my infection was worse than they thought. I was switched antibiotics and was put on bed rest! Can you believe it???? Doctor's orders were five days in bed, no pants on, warm washcloth on my infected leg and two warm baths a day. I was horrified!

Since joining the Pooh crew, I've never missed a day of work. I've never used a sick day, and now I was using them for a bug bite!

So here I am in Arecibo, Puerto Rico still nursing my leg and hoping that I'll be well enough to go back to work this Thursday. I have so much to do and I'm so behind on the things I wanted to accomplish last week!

The crew boys have nicknamed me "Bug Bite." I know they are just teasing because it is pretty ridiculous that a bug bite laid me up for five days, but I don't want to be called "Bug Bite" for the rest of the South American tour!

In other news, we get to come home the day after Labor Day for about four weeks. This tour has been pretty miserable, and I'm ready to be in an English speaking country!

Dominican Republic

Hello all.

I have not had a chance to post regularly as intenet in Venezuela was highly overpriced and we were very busy working. They had us either locked in the hotel or locked into the venue for most of the two weeks. We had a few group trips to the mall, to the grocery store, and to McDonalds. It gave everyone cabin fever and tempers were streched to the limit. We got out of there this past Wednesday and are now in the Dominican Republic. We are at the Barcelo Capella resort and it's been very relaxing.

As I'm not much for the sun, I spend most of my time on my balcony or under a palm tree. The water is a brillant blue green and is warm when it washes over my feet. There are also these odd little red and blue crabs that crawl all over the sidewalks.

That's all for now. Hopefully I'll get some internet with my own computer soon so I can post pictures!

Safe in Venezuela

I've been in Venezuela for over a week now and have been either locked in a hotel or at the venue we are playing.  Our security guards are very nice, and are more than willing to lend a helping hand.  Besides the hotel and the venue, we've been to McDonald's almost everyday and to a mall or grocery store.  We look pretty funny with guards.  Next week we go to the Dominican Republic and have a few days off at the beach.  We're hoping for internet there, as it's been touch and go here in Venezuela

A clip from my show!

Found this while browsing the web. It's pretty good! It's from when we were in Valladolid, Spain last year. Enjoy!

At home for five weeks!

Due to problems in Columbia, we've been sent home for a few weeks. We were not told exactly why the Columbian portion of our tour was cancelled, but either way, I'm happy to be home!

A day at the beach in Coasta Rica

After a hard week of work in Coasta Rica, the promoters took us to a beach resort for the day:

Yes! That really is me! I had my hair relaxed/straightened at a spa salon in Coasta Rica. Don't know how long it will stay this pretty, but it sure did make a good beach photo!

Antigua, Guatemala

On our one day off in Guatemala, many of us went to Antigua. It is considered one of the most outstanding and best-preserved colonial city in Spanish America. To me, it was a cute town filled with squares, parks and restaurants. Here's some photos:

I´ve spent the entire week trying to get the show in working order. The hotel this week doesn´t have internet, so I have no pictures so share right now, but hopefully next week!

Last week's PR

Last week Pooh, Tigger and I were sent to Central America for some advanced press events announcing the show. We did events in Panama, Guatemala, and Costa Rica. Pooh and Tigger were so happy to get back to the 100 Acre Woods at the end of the week, as we were super busy!!

Above are pictures of Pooh and Tigger at a mall in Panama City. They got to meet lots of new friends!

Next we went to Guatemala. Things where kinda hot there, as you can tell by Pooh fanning himself. We got to meet lots of cute and well behaved children at a preschool. The first lady of Guatemala was on hand to welcome Pooh and Tigger. (She's the lady in the grey suit.)

At this preschool, they were big fans of of everyone from the 100 Acre woods as their classrooms were decorated!

In Costa Rica, they threw Pooh a birthday party complete with cake!

All in all it was very very busy for us. We have just enough time to recuperate before we head back to Central America to start our show!
