Hadrian's Arch & The Temple of Olympian Zeus

Walking along in Athens. . . I see this cat, sitting in a tree.
It started meowing at me, so I thought it was worthy of a photo. This is Hadrian's Arch, the symbolic gate of the city.

Here I am in front of the Temple of Olympian Zeus.
16 of the original 104 columns remain. . . not bad for 131 AD

From the Temple, you can see the Acropolis in the distance.

Athens' 1st Cemetery

Athens has a cemetery called 1st Cemetery. It is basically an outdoor sculpture display.

Look, there's a creepy cemetery cat.

This one is called the Sleeping Maiden, it's one of those most famous tombstones in the cemetery.

Old cemeteries are so neat to walk around in. I really enjoyed this one.

Not Myself Lately

I know, I know. It's been awhile since I've posted. This week I hope to remedy this problem and get back into my own personal groove.

I haven't been feeling like myself lately. My beloved 1998 Purple Neon died on me and I feel so lost without her. I've had her for 12 years, since she had just three miles on her. She has been my source of freedom and solitude for years. There is no better cure for feeling down than hoping in the car, blasting the radio and just driving.

Besides my car dying, my trip to Athens was not very good. Yes, I did get to see some of the amazing sights of Athens (pictures to follow later) but it was not an enjoyable trip.

I'm at home now, and trying to get myself in order.
