Freezing in Norway

I have spent the last few weeks here in Norway. Our first stop was a smaller town by the name of Bergen. It was really lovely. I have tons of pictures, but the Internet is so very slow right now that they will just have to wait for another day.

The highest temperature I have experienced since I got to Norway has probably been somewhere in the 20s, and we've seen plenty of snow.

Norway is SUPER expensive! The exchange rate is $1 American to $5 Norwegian. A value meal at McDonald's will run you about $20 American. A six-inch sub at Subway will run you about $11. Forget going to a bar to get a beer after work. . . . a single beer on tap is about $14. A 20 oz bottle of soda at 7-11 is about $5. A large two topping pizza. . . . $40.

We took a nine hour bus trip from Bergen to Oslo. It was a pretty drive, and I did take some pictures of the mountains. Our trucks with our stuff in it had a rougher drive. It took them 3 days to get here from Bergen. (In Europe, drivers are only allowed by law to drive 10 hours a day.) It was slow going for them through the mountains and snow.

Since our stuff was in trucking containers for 3 days, when I opened up some of my containers today at work. . . there were things that were frozen! I had to thaw the laundry detergent before I could wash anything today!

Here's another thing to giggle about. The hotel here in Oslo won't let us use the mini-bars. Normally we open up the mini-bars and take everything out and put our own stuff in it. . . but this one has them on lock down. So we are all hanging bags of groceries out the window! Standing outside the hotel, you can definitely tell which floor the Disney folk are on!

That's all for now, hopefully the Internet will speed up so I can upload some photos.

Old Town, Warsaw

Last Friday morning, I took some time to see Warsaw's Old Town.
Here I am posing in front of the Market Square:
Look the door to this Pub is as big as I am:
I love my long coat, it keeps me warm!

Snow Flurries in Warsaw

I've been back on tour for a little over a week now and things have been super crazy. . . and cold! Last week we were in Wroclaw, Poland. . . but things so were hectic trying to get the show back up and running that I didn't get to see Wroclaw.

We've been in Warsaw two days, and it started to snow during load-in!
That picture was taken without a flash, the next is with a flash!

Not very exciting for most of you, but I haven't gotten to play with snow since I was about 10 years old.

In other news, my ex-boyfriend Paul (the Dutch truck driver) is here. That has added a whole other level of stress to my life, because I honestly didn't think I would be seeing him again this European tour.

That's it for now, I hope to sight-see on Friday morning!
