Hello everyone.

Yes, I know, I have been slacking on my blog posting. But I have a good reason. . . I've had the nastiest cold now for a week.

Last Sunday we packed the show up in Mexico City to travel to Guadalajara. We traveled by plane, when we got to the airport, they held our luggage ransom. They wanted some more money because we all travel with two bags. I was already sick, and my ears were a mess after the flight. We then loaded onto a bus that took us to our new hotel. It's nice as well, all the staff speaks English which is very helpful.

We loaded into the theatre on Tuesday, it was pretty crazy. There was lots of locals to help with the load in. Most of them my age, and very cute! When Charlie and I arrived, the locals swarmed us trying to help. Charlie turned to me and said, "You and your bloody boobs." My response was, "Whatever! You have red hair, so don't blame this on me!" Sometimes there really is too many cooks in the kitchen. The local guys were trying so hard to help us that it was actually slowing us down from working.

This week I'm rooming with Nadia. She's been a lot of fun to room with so far, cause she loves to talk and gossip. I thought rooming with Nadia would really suckm but it's been fun! Sadly, Nadia pulled her shoulder out of socket and had to go to the emergency room. She's been in a lot of pain lately, and they're saying she'll be out of the show for two weeks.

Besides Nadia getting hurt, the show has areally suffered here in Guadalajara. At first out sound system was all messed up because of the electricity in the building. Then, our lighting and projections went kaput on us. Tomorrow we start a six pack for the weekend, hopefully, all technical difficulties will now be behind us.

Sadly, I haven't gotten to see any of Guadaljara yet. I've been so sick that when I'm not at work, I've been in bed. I've been coughing so much that I feel like my lungs are gonna come out. I finally got myself out and went to a pharmica and got some Robotussin. Yeah, stay away from Mexican Robotussin. . . it makes my head very loopy.

Alright, I've got to go to bed now. It's getting late and I'm working early tomorrow.

My time here in Mexico City is almost over. On Monday we travel to Guadaljara.

This week we had Monday off. I went shopping at the upclass boutiques close to our hotel with Tracie and Charlotte. We had a lot of fun, and Tracie bought lots of stuff. Then we went to a very swanky little bar called "Whiskey." There we were hit on by some very nice Mexican gentlemen. One asked us, "Do you like Neil Diamond?" We thought it was the funniest thing we had heard all day.

On Tuesday, the three of us took off again and did a bus tour of the city. It was great, it took us all over. This city has lots of statues. Downtown they have a whole district where they have store after store, after booth after booth of jewelry. Lots of gorgeous stuff, and fantastic prices. (Remember $1.00 American is $10.00 Mexican.) I saw a necklace that I thought was stunning, silver and tanzite, but I couldn't bare to ask how much it was. (Afterall, I'm supposed to be getting out of debt.) During lunch, I couldn't stop thinking about it, so we tried to find it again. I couldn't find it and was totally bummed the rest of the afternoon.

On Wednesday, we took a company trip to The Basilica of Guadalupe and the Pyramids of Teotihuacan. The Basilica was my favorite of the two spots. It's the shrine, temple, church whatever that has been built where the Virgin Mary had appeared to a humble Indian. The church is gorgeous. Everyone visiting was moved, it has a very unique possibly even holy feeling to it. As I sat in the pews and listened to the choir sing Avia Maria, I was moved to tears. Really, quite gorgeous.

The Pyramids of Teotihuacan was neat, but not my normal cup of tea. Since we had no guide, I really didn't understand what they were. I knew that they were Aztec Pyramids built sometime B.C. I did climb the Pyramids, and I'm paying for it now. Each step came halfway up my calf. My legs are killing me and my right knee (my bum knee) is all out of whack. Also why we were there, there were many Mexicans trying to sell their goods. This is where bargaining skills come in. I was wearing a pair of sunglasses that I had acquired during my time at SeaWorld with the Fusion show. . . I traded my sunglasses for some silver bracelets. Then I traded my broken watch for a turtle flute. I had bought my watch at Target for $5.00 before I had left, and broke it shortly after arrival. And now I have no watch, but a cool turtle flute.

My real boss, Charlie, has finally arrived. Mexico has finally decided to let her into the country. She's put me hard at work, as she's been assessing the wear and tear on each costume. When we get to Japan, we will be doing lots of shows, and many promo events. Apparently the Japanese are crazy about Pooh. So we need to spend this time in Mexico to make the show into tip top shape.

I've been eating some really fanstastic food since I've gotten here in Mexico. There's this little food stand right across the street from the theatre we're working at that has amazing tortas. It's a sandwich of sorts with refried beans on it. The only "American" thing I've had since I've gotten here is a pizza from Pizza Hut. My roomie, Claudia, and I were really hungry and tired the other night and order a pizza. It tastes almost the same, except the crust is just a tad different. Probably because of the water here.

I'm happy to say, that I really like my job. During the day, I get to visit cool places, and at night I work. My co-workers are fun and I'm having a great time. I haven't found any love yet, but I'm not really looking. If it happens, it happens. Right now, I'm just happy.

I've been in Mexico fourish days now.

My roomie here in Mexico City is a girl named Claudia, who is a native Mexican. She works with the food and merchandise.

Yesterday we had load in. We loaded the set, costumes, props, etc. into the theatre. I am horribly out of shape, I was out of breath a lot of the time. I was so exhausted when I came back to the hotel, I just put on my jammies and crawled in bed.

Tuesday, Claudia and I went out. We went to a little hole in the wall for lunch, and then we went to a grocery store. I was horrified to realize it was owned by Wal*Mart. We bought a few things and brought them back to the hotel. We had the hotel clean out the mini-bar so we could use the fridge. Later, after I took a nap, we went across the street to a little restaurant called Karisma and I had enchiladas for dinner. I've leaned to stay clear of any green sauces . . . . they will burn the hell out of your mouth.

My sinuses hurt, a lot. I am constantly blowing my nose. I don't know what's wrong. I'm hoping I'm just adjusting to the climate.

On a side note, Cokes here are really tasty. They're not quite like the American counterpart, but they are really good. When I was at the grocery store, I bought a 12 pack. Then later today I realized that Cokes here are made with real sugar. . . not corn syrup like that are in the States.

My first show was tonight at 6:30. I was really freaked out by the whole having to dress five characters that I've never touched before, but all went rather well. They're costumes are really really nice. The character suits I'm used to from SeaWorld are GHETTO comparatively.

The weather here is just like home, just at a higher altitude. At first I thought I was just really out of shape when we walked places, but I noticed that others are out of breath too when we walk up flights of stairs and stuff too.

Mexico City is just like New York City. . . except everything is in Spanish. Just walking down the streets feels like NYC. . . .odd huh?

I've been eating local food mostly. My only "homey" item is Coke. But the Cokes here are made with real sugar, not corn syrup like they are in the states. They are soooooo good! A 20 oz Coke is about $6 Pesos. I've learned to stay away from the green sauce, it burns. . . a lot. The red sauce is still spicy, but it won't set my mouth on fire. And sour cream is just called cream, and isn't standard with a Mexican meal.

I am having lots of language problems. I can only say a few phrases in Spanish, and those I can say I use a lot. I just wish I could order food for myself. I have to rely on others for help. Leo (he's a clown in the show) helped me order breakfast tacos this morning. Later Leo went out and bought Jeanne and I sandwiches. Which, is the most fantastic sandwich I've eaten in a long long time. It had ham, cheese, mayo, some kind of pepper like things and I don't know what else that gave it that kick. . . but DAMN that sandwich was good. Tomorrow I'm gonna try to remember to ask Leo to teach me how to order it.

I have to be up really early tomorrow, it's a four show day. . . and I'm still not 100% on everything I'm responsible for.

What have I gotten myself into?

It is 11:55 pm here in Mexico City. I've just settled into my hotel room. . . Which is rather spiffy. But this so far, is the highlight of the trip so far.

Today, I left my loving parents and my home and flew AeroMexico to join the Disney Live! Winnie the Pooh cast.

My flight was to leave at 5:00 pm. We didn't leave until 6:00 pm. They overbooked the flight and tried to bump me until "manana" because I'm an American that is from Orlando. This of course was impossible being that they had people waiting for me at the airport in Mexico.

My flight was long, and boring. Thank God for the laptop. I watched the Wizard of Oz while the very large Mexican man next to me fell asleep and passed gas.

I was the only person that was American on the flight. I speak no Espanol. Everyone else did. It sucked.

As my plane started its decent into Mexico City, I pondered, "What have I gotten myself into?" "What am I doing?" "Oh my God, I'm about to land in a foreign country where I don't speak the language." And other fantastic thoughts.

When I got off the plane, I was met by someone to help me through immigration and customs. . . Thank God! However, my boss, Charlie is not being allowed into the country and we spent an hour in the airport of her explaining to me how to set up the show. . . by myself. I admire her professionalism. She drew me maps, and wrote a detailed outline the best she could under her amazing stress. She said they were holding her in a little cell like cement room. That must be so awful. . . . "manana" they are gonna fly her back to the U.S.

I'm feeling overwhelmed to say the least. My brain is giving me good and evils of everything. . . this is a new experience. . . this is miserable. . . . etc etc.

I am a brave brave girl. I flew by myself into a foreign country. I have to give myself that.

On a side note, this past week I have been getting stress induced migraines in my left eye. I've been eating Excedrin like candy. Anyone got any better ideas?
